Per Emergency Order of the Board of Selectmen, acting as Water Commissioners effective Monday July 12, 2010, for an indefinite time period, unattended irrigation system use, including individual sprinklers is prohibited. Hand held hose use only is permissible. Your co-operation and compliance will assure adequate water storage supplies for emergency firefighting purposes.
Construction Notice: Lantern Lane, Gaines Road, and Fisher Road will be partially closed for reconstruction of streets and sidewalks beginning Thursday June 17, 2010. The roads will be open to residents during regular working hours. There will be no on-street parking Monday through Friday from 6am-5pm until project completion. Due to watermain replacement, Massapoag Avenue traffic will be detoured through Morse Street and Capen Hill Road from June 1, 2010 through August 9, 2010 during the hours of 7am-4pm.

CURBSIDE HOUSEHOLD TRASH COLLECTION
Household trash must not be put at the curb prior to Noon on the day before your scheduled household trash collection day. There will be no household trash collection on Monday September 6, 2010 (Labor Day) and no household trash collection on Thursday September 9, 2010 (Rosh Hashanah). Trash collection for Monday & Tuesday of that week will be on Tuesday, trash collection will be normal on that Wednesday, trash collection for Thursday will be on Friday, and trash collection for that Friday will be on Saturday. NOTE: There is an error on the recycling calendar: trash WILL be collected on Tuesday September 28, 2010.
Hours for dumpster use and disposal of metal are 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
****Allied Waste has asked that residents leave trash and recycling at least 10 feet away from mailboxes with the lid opening facing the street.***
Notice to Residents
There is no curbside leaf and/or yard waste collection in the spring. Leaves and other yard wastes can be deposited at the Farnham Road composting area. Refer to the Sharon Refuse & Recycling calendar (or read below) for dates and times for Farnham Road.
The Farnham Road composting area will be open on September 11, 12, 25 & 26 and on October 9, 10, 23, and 24 from 11am until 4pm.

RAILROAD PARKING
Railroad parking passes for October 1, 2010 through December 31, 2010 are sold out.
Note: We always encourage residents to purchase their quarterly passes as early as they possibly can due to limited parking spaces.
Don't throw mercury products in the trash- recycle them. It's the law. The Sharon DPW now accepts mercury products at the main DPW office located at 217R South Main Street. Mercury products include such items as thermometers, fluorescent light bulbs, thermostats, flat panel display screens, and button cell batteries. Look for a mercury label or Hg symbol on newer products.
